(you gotta love that West Texas sky!)
I love this picture of Jacob. Doesn't he look big? My baby's not a baby anymore....he's a BOY....and not even such a little boy, really.
After the park, I made the mandatory run to Sonic Happy Hour, then we came home and the Mister cooked burgers and jalapeno poppers on the new grill. [Yep, in front of the house, because he put it together in the garage and then it wouldn't fit through the door to the backyard :)]. Delicious!
After lunch we watched a little Gilligan's Island, took a nap, then finished up the afternoon with a little of this. mmmmmm.
But with all of that....all the fun, all the relaxing, all the good food, I hope that on this day of remembering we will not forget that Memorial Day is about more than just a 3 day weekend.

It's about more than just going to the lake or cooking out or even spending time with family. Really, it's about the freedom we have to do all those things.
It about the men and women who have sacrificed their rights to do all those things so that we can do them.

It's about this....

and this....

and this....

I love this quote I heard on Nightline tonight....
"Because of the few who volunteer, the rest of us have the right to say No."Wow. Have you ever thought about it that way?
Let's never, ever forget.
