Spring has sprung!

Actually, it "sprung" (sprang?) about a week before we left for San Antonio. But you see how I'm doing at getting things posted these days. Ahem.

Just like I love fall, I love it when the cold weather of winter starts to give way to spring. I know there are all kinds of metaphors in that, but after working on part 2 of my San Antonio post for two weeks, I just don't have the mental wherewithal to delve that deeply write now. :)

I love it when the flowers and trees start blooming.

I love it when the grass starts turning green. And mostly I love it when we can start going outside (or leaving for school in the mornings!) without a jacket.

I love, love, LOVE these trees that are blooming everywhere right now.

I don't love these so much - I don't love how they start sticking their heads out before the grass even thinks about turning green....

....but I do love how my little man loves to bring them in to me from the yard, along with a hug. :)

But living in West Texas, this is also what we have to look forward to every spring.

Ok, maybe not quite that drastic, but I have seen pictures very close to that on our evening news.

And this? Oh yeah, definitely. All the time. Daily almost.

It's the beauty of West Texas. You know it's spring when you see the arrival of flowers, 50 mph winds, and sand in the air. Happy Spring, y'all!
