- Does anyone besides me have to fight the urge to start every new post with the word "So"? So, Kloe got a necklace from a boy for Valentine's Day. So, our car broke down. So, Jacob turned seven today. So, I'm breathing.
- So, I find myself going through my days with a constant stream of blog-talk narrating everything I do, turning every event of the day - from grocery shopping to dusting to homework - into a potential blog post. Is this normal?
- In addition to the ongoing narration in my head, I also have become a blog-photo stalker. Any time I get out the camera, my kids start saying, "Are you going to put this on your blog? Noooooooo!" I find myself posing pictures in ways that will look flattering (either for the photo subject or for my house) instead of taking candids like I used to.
- So, I have a stack of unfinished posts in my drafts folder. It makes me sad because most of them are things I really wanted to post about, but now they seem out of date and irrelevant. I read somewhere that "catch up" posts are lame. So, yeah, guess my drafts folder has just become my unfinished blog post graveyard. :( Although there's one that may just show up here at some point, because it has cool pictures. And my family wants to see them. Yes, they do. Be prepared.
- Blog envy. I'm guilty. Hate it. Probably need to read this book.
- I usually stay up waaaaay too late working on posts. Mostly because 1) the only time I have to post is after the kids are in bed and, 2) it still takes me a really long time to write and edit a post....especially if pictures are involved. Probably related to #5. *sigh*
- So, when a recipe calls for "1 medium onion, chopped", does anyone actually use the whole onion? That's a whole lotta onion, sister. I have to say I am very happy I learned about pre-chopped onions from Starr at Lost in Laundry. It's likely I will never chop another onion again.

Oh my, I can relate to all of these! No, I never chop or use the entire onion. Never. That's so funny!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of unfinished posts in my drafts folder, too, but sometimes I'll look them over and it gives me a new start for that day's post.
I still spend about 2 hours on a post even though I've been doing this nearly 3 years. Sometimes I'll hit publish, go to bed, then lie awake thinking of a better way to turn a phrase.
But that's what makes it a hobby :)
Hi Valerie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
This post has me cracking up, I can soooo relate. Is it really true that "catch up" posts are lame? I was really hoping to do some catching up--I have some old, old drafts. If I do it anyway, will you? I'm thinking "Flashback Friday --Draft Edition" let's do it!
I also stay up waaaaay too late working on posts--and most seem to take me a really long time to write, and edit, and edit, and edit . . . you get the picture. And speaking of pictures, all photos are now snapped from a blog perspective!
Onions? Dry minced. I don't chop onions--cause I don't buy onions, believe it or not!
I like your randomness!
Blessings on your day ~
Tina
